Networking — share your card and connect

Networking is where you keep in touch with the people you meet at an event. It has two parts: your own shareable card, and the list of attendees you have connected with.

Open it from the Networking tab in the app.

Your card is a small public profile — your name, role, institution and whichever contact details and links you choose to publish. Nothing else is shown.

  1. Open the Networking tab. Your card and its QR code are on the left (on a phone, scroll past your connections to reach it).
  2. Share it. Tap Share to send your card link through any messaging app, or let someone scan the QR code straight from your screen.
  3. Choose what is on it. Open Settings and use the visibility toggles — untick anything you would rather keep private. Hidden details are not published and are never copied into anyone else’s list.

Your card link looks like https://pulse-ucare.my/u/{your-id} and only opens for people who are signed in to Pulse.

Tap Scan to connect and point your camera at the other attendee’s QR code. Either code works:

  • the QR code on their ticket (the same code the venue scans at the door), or
  • the QR code on their card in the Networking tab.

You only scan once — you do not need both codes.

If their QR code will not scan, type their ticket number (for example A-7K2M9Q) into Or enter ticket number and tap Find. The number is printed on their ticket under the QR code.

Once it succeeds you see Connected with …, and the person appears in your Connections list.

Each connection saves the details that person has published: name, role, institution, and their phone, email and links if they made them visible. It also remembers which event you met at.

Below the details you can:

  • Write a note — where you met, what you talked about. Notes save when you tap away from the box.
  • WhatsApp, Call or Email them directly.
  • Save contact — downloads a contact card (.vcf) you can keep in your phone.
  • Remove — the bin icon deletes the connection from your list.

Both people get the connection. Whoever is scanned also receives a notification, so nobody is added silently.

Only what you publish. If you untick your phone number in Settings, anyone who connects with you afterwards gets no phone number at all — it is never copied into their list. Details you published earlier stay on connections made earlier; untick a field to stop it spreading further.

“This attendee has no Pulse account yet.” The ticket belongs to someone who has not set up a Pulse account, so there is nothing to connect to. Ask them to sign up first, or exchange contacts another way.

“That’s your own ticket.” You scanned your own code. Scan the other person’s.

“Ticket not found.” The code was mistyped or the ticket was cancelled. Check the number on the ticket and try again.

The camera does not start. Allow camera access for the site in your browser settings, or use Or enter ticket number instead.
