QR scanner setup
Pulse uses QR codes for check-in. At the event, staff scan each participant’s ticket QR code to mark their attendance. This guide covers giving staff the scanner role and preparing them to scan.
Give staff the scanner role
Section titled “Give staff the scanner role”A staff member needs the scanner role before they can check people in.
- Open the event dashboard. Sign in at https://pulse-ucare.my, open your event page, and go to its dashboard.
- Open the team or roles area. Find where roles are managed for the event.
- Add the scanner role. Add each staff member and assign the scanner role. The admin or organiser for the event sets roles.
Only staff with the scanner role can check participants in. Without the role, the scanner screen will not work for them. Set up every scanner’s account before the event starts.
Prepare a scanner
Section titled “Prepare a scanner”- Sign in on the device. Each scanner signs in to https://pulse-ucare.my with their own account on their phone or tablet.
- Open the scanner screen. Go to https://pulse-ucare.my/scan.
- Test the scanner. Scan your own ticket or a sample ticket to confirm the device and account work.
- Confirm the check-in appears. A successful scan marks the participant as checked in and shows it on screen.
At the event
Section titled “At the event”- Check people in one by one. Each scan of a valid ticket marks that participant as attended.
- Scanners need internet. The scanner screen checks tickets online, so every scanning device needs a working connection.
- Multiple scanners are fine. Several staff can scan at the same time. Check-ins update the same attendance record for the event.
If a ticket does not scan, check the participant’s name in the registrations list and mark their attendance manually if needed.
