User roles

Pulse gives every person a role based on what they need to do. Your role decides which features you see and what actions you can take. This page explains each role.

A participant registers for events and attends them. You can browse events, register free or paid, view your QR ticket, check in at the venue and download your e-certificate when eligible.

Some events accept group registrations. The group owner registers the group and manages its bookings, while guests join the event under the owner’s group registration. Guests still receive their own tickets for check-in.

Organisers and admins run events on Pulse. They create event pages, set dates, venues and fees, review registrations and approve pending ones, confirm manual payments and publish certificates for eligible participants.

Scanner staff work at the venue on event day. They check participants in by scanning the QR codes on their tickets, which records who has arrived.

Super admins manage Pulse itself rather than a single event. They oversee the platform’s events, user accounts and data, and support organisers who run events on it.

If you are not sure which role you have, sign in to Pulse and look at what your account lets you do, or ask the event organiser.
